Sal Oliveri -tenor-soprano-bari-alto saxes-flute- clarinet-bass clarinet -blues vocals.Sal played bari sax and clarinet with US Air Force band in Germany touring most of Europe,also jamming the Mainz jazz kellers on baritone with Army service men,local German musicians, soon to be notables Don Ellis,Leo Wright,Cedar Walton, Albert Mangelsdorf and numerous others.some time was also spent touring local Army and Air force bases in Germany playing alto and baritone with rhythm &blues group Irwin and the HeartBreakers sometimes with DooWop group Dell Vikings.Returning to the states Sal added tenor sax and worked the resorts in the Catskills and various lounge gigs and wedding bands and also attended Berlkee,UCCC,and Suny New Paltz A new Catskills resort opening resulted in a 15 year engagement adding flute bass clainet and backing numerous entertainers -Arthur Prysock,Al Hibbler,Johnny Ray,Enzo Stuarti,Vic Damone,Sal Richards,Lenny Welsh,Al Martino and hundreds of others.and a real thrill atlternating sets with Duke Ellington&Orchestra in 1970 Wow! during this time was fortunate to work with many local musicians Ron Fink,Bob Shaut,Rosswell Rudd,Harvey Sorgen,Steve Rust,Charlie Knicely,Ed Summerland Bobby Johnson,Lanse Dowdell,Bob Farris,Lane Hoppen ,Bobby Eck,Charlie Morano,Harvey Kaiser,Bob Duvall, Atrie Baum,Dale DeMarco and so many more wonderful playersand very fortunate for me. leaving the resort Sal spent the next 16 years on the road with the Sammy Kaye Orchestra traveling around the country and doing cruises.big band biz slowed down and Sal played with local Latin band Sonando for 2 years. Now plays with Stu Spectors band Crawdaddy,Willie Amrods In Crowd,Big Blue Big Band ,Saugerties CommunityBand, Sammy Kaye Orch.Sal's trio the Cafe Jazzbo'sand solo Saxso
